About

Welcome to Serendipity6, where we believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can spark transformative change. Since our founding in 2013, we have been driven by a simple yet powerful idea: by coming together with compassion and dedication, we can make a lasting impact on the world around us.

Our journey began with a handful of passionate individuals who shared a vision of creating a better, more compassionate community.

Today, that vision has grown into a vibrant organization committed to spreading hope and fostering positive change. We believe that every individual has the power to make a difference, and our mission is to provide the support and resources needed to turn those individual efforts into collective action.

Serendipity6 is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, originally created in 2013 by Sarah Wakehouse due to the lack of affordable recreational activities to benefit large families available in our local area, as well as a place for multiply community-centered services, resources. and programs.

Pre-Covid-19; Serendipity6 has established a series of community-based programs, projects, and events, and collaborations in the Yermo area for the past 2 years. These programs have created partnerships with the local small business owners, groups, and organizations.

Everything offered by Serendipity6 comes from them in some method, and their hopes to bring better opportunities to our hometown. Sarah is assisted in operating the organization by members of the local community.

S6 Community Gardens Ventures

Community Gardens projects designed to help combat climate change, bring more fresh produce, native plants, flowers, and conservation, restoration, and preservation activities for our region.

Gardening Lesson

The S6 Community Gardens Ventures we are seeking to build our community around helping our neighbors and residents of nearby areas start growing [some of] their own food while bringing back a sense of community, some security, and even help the environment!

This S6CGV program is a great opportunity to learn, experience, and share common gardening practices in a hands-on and fun manner, and at your own pace, and safely in your own home/yard/space!

Learn to Grow Your Own Food!

Not only is our area at a disadvantage due to its ruralness if we should be cut off from the closest city, but this region is what is technically known as a “Food Desert”- an area in which it is difficult to buy affordable or good-quality fresh food. Due to the incredibly long, hot summers in recent years the local water tables have dropped to epic levels. And now with the 2020 Pandemic, unstable situations within governments across the Globe, and tensions with the rapid rise of CLIMATE CHANGE damage starting your OWN food gardens is more important than ever!

This program is created to develop as we go, and everyone can contribute as an S6 Community Garden Member by participating in ways that work best for them - from lending gardening items, sharing resources, volunteering time and/or supply, and monetary donations to sharing of land, and telling of your own gardening experiences, and by sharing knowledge.

The S6CGV Membership ONLINE is a great opportunity to learn common gardening practices in a hands-on with video instruction, fun and informational guides, and resources, all at your own pace.

Currently an 8 x 8 spot which includes soils, and seeds, access to tools, gloves, shade covers, and water access is available for the growing season. The fee is $65 and is a 120 day commitment, with 4 -8 hours a weekend dedicated to building your garden plot.

An S6 Community Gardener Membership will include a food/flower box from the sponsored plot/plants at end of the growing season, exclusive Gardening Content from our S6CG Members Only website including guides for the care and development of your sponsored plots/plants, and you can do it all from your own house!

Membership will also include a custom S6 Garden Growers Guide PDF, and special offers for our other upcoming garden-related activities throughout the year, such as recipes, seed saving, and more.
